Move over, basic beige.

Fall fashion usually means we collectively agree to dress like a very chic pumpkin patch for three months. Brown. Camel. Burgundy. Maybe a little olive if we’re feeling adventurous.

But Fall 2026 said: Actually, let’s have some fun.

This season’s color trends are mixing those gorgeous, cozy autumn classics with seriously unexpected pops of color. Think rich chocolate brown next to electric blue, moody burgundy paired with baby blue, and royal purple making an entrance like it owns the place.

And the best part?

You absolutely do NOT need to replace your entire wardrobe to get the look.

Before buying something new, check your closet — and then check secondhand. Trends have a funny way of coming back around, which means some of this season’s hottest colors may already be hiding in vintage and preloved pieces.

Here are the 9 colors you’re about to see everywhere for Fall 2026.

1. 🍫 Chocolate Brown

Chocolate brown isn’t going anywhere.

Honestly, at this point, brown may have officially stolen black’s job.

Deep espresso, chocolate, chestnut, cinnamon, caramel — warm brown tones instantly make an outfit feel expensive without trying too hard.

Try it in:

  • Leather jackets
  • Suede bags
  • Chunky sweaters
  • Trousers
  • Boots
  • Vintage coats

The easiest outfit formula? Chocolate brown + cream + gold jewelry.

Done. You look expensive.

2. 🍷 Burgundy

If fall were a color, this would be it.

Burgundy is back again for 2026, and I am absolutely not mad about it. Somewhere between red and brown, it’s dramatic without being loud and sophisticated without feeling boring.

Look for burgundy:

  • Handbags
  • Leather jackets
  • Loafers
  • Sweaters
  • Dresses
  • Blazers

And don’t be afraid to wear burgundy head-to-toe.

Monochromatic dressing is one of the easiest ways to make secondhand pieces look incredibly polished.

3. đź’ś Royal Purple

Well, hello there.

Purple is having a serious moment for Fall 2026, particularly rich shades like royal purple, plum, aubergine and amethyst.

It’s moody. It’s glamorous. It’s a little mysterious.

Basically, it’s the color equivalent of walking into a room and refusing to explain yourself.

Try a purple knit with denim for an easy everyday look, or go all-in with a vintage purple dress or statement coat.

4. đź’™ Electric Blue

This one surprised me — and I LOVE IT.

Bright cobalt and electric blue are cutting through all those traditional fall neutrals this year.

And you don’t need an entire electric-blue outfit.

A blue handbag, sweater, scarf, shoe or jacket against black, gray, brown or denim can completely transform an otherwise simple outfit.

This is also exactly why I love shopping secondhand.

That cobalt sweater somebody bought in 1998?

Suddenly she’s trendy again.

5. đź«’ Burnt Olive

Olive for fall isn’t exactly groundbreaking.

But Fall 2026’s version feels richer, deeper and a little more luxurious.

Think mossy greens, burnt olive and earthy military-inspired shades rather than bright spring green.

This color is ridiculously easy to wear because it practically functions as a neutral.

Pair olive with:

  • Chocolate brown
  • Cream
  • Burgundy
  • Denim
  • Black
  • Camel

Bonus points if you find it in suede, leather, corduroy or a chunky knit.

6. 🍅 Tomato Red

Red isn’t quietly hanging around this fall.

It’s demanding attention.

Bright, saturated tomato red is showing up as a major statement color, and it’s one of the easiest trends to try without spending much money.

You don’t need a head-to-toe red outfit.

Try one red piece:

A sweater.

A handbag.

A pair of shoes.

A scarf.

Even a vintage red blazer over jeans and a white tee can suddenly make the whole outfit feel intentional.

7. 🍑 Juicy Peach

Peach?

For FALL?

Apparently, yes — and somehow it works.

Peachy pinks, melon and warm coral tones are bringing an unexpected softness to Fall 2026.

Instead of thinking tropical summer peach, picture a slightly muted peach knit paired with chocolate trousers or a peach blouse underneath a brown suede jacket.

Suddenly it makes sense.

And it’s a great reminder that your “summer” clothes don’t necessarily have to disappear the second September arrives.

8. 🩵 Turquoise

Another color we normally pack away after Labor Day has decided it would like to stay.

Turquoise is moving into fall wardrobes as an unexpected pop against deeper seasonal colors.

Personally, I LOVE turquoise jewelry with brown.

It’s giving vintage Southwestern.

It’s giving cool estate-sale find.

It’s giving “Where did you GET that?”

Exactly the reaction we want.

9. 🤎 Muted Clay & Warm Terracotta

Okay, traditional fall-color lovers — I didn’t forget about you.

Warm clay, terracotta, cinnamon and rusty earth tones are still very much invited to the party.

These shades look especially good in textured fabrics like:

  • Corduroy
  • Suede
  • Wool
  • Knitwear
  • Leather

And unlike some microtrends, these colors don’t scream one particular year.

A beautiful rust-colored wool coat can look just as relevant ten years from now as it does today.

Which brings me to my favorite part…

The Best Place to Find Fall 2026 Color Trends? The Secondhand Market.

Here’s the funny thing about fashion trends:

They’re rarely actually new.

Royal purple? Been there.

Chocolate brown? Definitely been there.

Cobalt blue? Your mom probably has photographic evidence.

Burgundy? It has survived approximately 847 fall trend cycles.

That’s why resale is one of my favorite ways to shop trends.

Instead of running out and buying an entirely new wardrobe every time TikTok declares something “in,” look for quality vintage and secondhand pieces in the colors, fabrics and silhouettes you already love.

You may find something far more interesting than what’s sitting on a mall rack — and there’s a much smaller chance you’ll show up wearing the exact same outfit as everyone else.
