I’m sure you have heard about Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest but did you know that the number of US Twitter users alone is nearly 69.3 million as of January 2021 (DataReportal, 2021) and Pinterest has 478 million monthly active users (Pinterest, 2021) and is currently ranked as the 14th most popular social media platform in the world (Source: The Global State of Digital 2021) Last but not least Facebook has 2.80 billion monthly active users (Facebook, 2021). If that number doesn’t blow you away, it also has 1.84 billion users that are visiting the social networking site on a daily basis. These sites can be used to market your eBay items and as you can see the potential reach is unimaginable and for the most part it’s free! (Besides the time spent creating the post & either scheduling or posting which in my opinion outweighs the benefits.) As a full time reseller not using social media consistently to get eyes on my items is not an option. I do pay for some services but it can be done without. My strategy is pretty basic, and can be broken down into a few steps that I will outline below.
Once my listing is completed I will then schedule for the item to be shared either on A.) Pinterest or B.) Twitter. I find that the chrome extensions for both Pinterest and Twitter are a timesaver but you can share your items directly from apps if you’re not on a desktop. See below.

Scheduling through Pinterest itself is free but I use Tailwind because I like all the options they provide but if you are just starting out its not necessary. Here is my affiliate link for $15 off https://www.tailwindapp.com/i/premierfinds If you plan on growing your resale business Tailwind is something to consider, I love there communities and their “create” tool is by far the best and easiest I’ve used. I could go on and on about all their amazing features but I’ll save it for a separate post.
As for Twitter I use Promote Pictures, they create a collage with the pictures in your listing whether its from Poshmark or eBay or any other site. I don’t have an affiliate link for that site but here is the link: https://www.promotepictures.com its very user-friendly. I’ve been using them for over 5 years now.
As far as facebook is concerned my strategy there is completely different and focuses more on posting within groups that focus on advertising and directly on eBay’s Facebook pages. Did you know that ebay allows you to post up to 4 items per day on their pages?!

I’m addition to posting within Facebook groups, I also have a Facebook business page. https://www.facebook.com/premierfinds if you haven’t started one yet I highly recommend it. Again it is free.
Social media is a great way to promote your eBay items in my opinion, whether you’re just starting you’re business or looking to grow. Starting with one platform and then adding others is always an option, but what is most important is consistency. What I’ve learned thus far in life, because honestly it applies everywhere is consistency, regularly posting content, creating blog posts, creating listings will lead to success. Do you agree? Personally I’d love to hear your stories! I’ve been consistently listing 20+ items on eBay daily and use social media to market them. It works for me but everyone’s experience is different.
